US Synthetic has an immediate need for a Student Engineer located in Orem, UT. The Student Engineer will assist Process Engineer/Specialist with all aspects of assigned process and related machines. Perform audits and trainings and use Lean methods to promote continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:
- Assist Engineer/Specialist with all aspects of assigned process and related machines
- Troubleshooting
- Assist production operators with machine malfunctions; assist maintenance when needed
- Assist production floor with quality improvements
- Own and be a part of PDCAs for the process
- Learn and apply Six Sigma principles
- Create, audit and maintain standard works operators to use for training on process, i.e. Critical Knowledge and Job Breakdown Sheets
- Run and train others in process meetings
- Work a flexible schedule based around school schedule
- Follow all company policies (Attendance, No Tobacco Products on Campus, Illegal Drug & Alcohol, Family Medical Leave Act, Personal Appearance, Personal Electronic Devices, Vacation & Personal Time, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED is required
- Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
- Must have been accepted to a bachelors engineering program at a university with intent to graduate
Physical Demands:
- Combination of sitting, standing and walking for eight or more hours
- Occasional repetitive motions
- Use of Safety Equipment (Safety glasses, Steel-toed boots)

- Lean and Six Sigma knowledge
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to apply things learned at school
- Ability to teach and explain methods, standards, etc. to others (Job Instruction)
- Ability to speak in front of crowds
- Team attitude
- Advanced computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, JMP, Pro-E, etc.
- Some database knowledge, i.e. SQL, Statistics
