Job Summary
This specialized role is centered on the proactive management of complex Commercial Auto Bodily Injury claims, specifically involving the trucking, fleet, and transportation sectors. The scope covers the entire claims lifecycle, from the initial accident investigation and evaluation through final, optimal disposition.
Manages a complex inventory of Commercial Auto Bodily Injury claims from initial evaluation through final disposition. This involves effectively communicating with insured parties, brokers, carriers, and claimants to ensure timely resolution. The role requires staying current on all claim-related changes and documentation.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Analyze, interpret, and review insurance policies to accurately determine coverage applicability for all claims.
Conduct comprehensive, high-level investigations for serious or litigated claims, including securing public records, interpreting technical reports, and directing field investigations.
Expertly manage and adjudicate a portfolio of complex and high-exposure Bodily Injury (BI) claims, spanning from initial evaluation through litigation and final disposition.
Evaluate damages and vigorously negotiate fair and equitable settlements directly with plaintiff attorneys for complex and serious injury cases.
Authorize claim payments and/or reserves in a timely manner within the assigned settlement authority level.
Accurately establish and manage loss and expense reserves to reflect financial exposure.
Resolve claim files efficiently through timely payment issuance or clear denial communication.
Proactively generate Large Loss Reports or Risk Alerts as required, communicating critical exposure risks to management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to maintain all required statutory licensing and remain in good standing.
Minimum of 10 years of experience successfully handling Commercial Auto claims, preferably involving the transportation sectors, demonstrating advanced expertise in key functions including:
In-depth knowledge of all applicable state laws and regulations governing the handling of general liability claims.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) necessary for effective negotiation and stakeholder interaction.
High degree of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively (strong multi-tasking skills).
Attention to detail and accuracy when gathering, analyzing, and documenting claim information in internal systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
