Freelance CGI 3D Artist (Furniture Product Visualization)
  Location: Remote (must overlap 4–5 hours with CET)
Contract Type: Freelance, 32–40 hours/week

About the Company

We are a leading ergonomic furniture brand based in Germany, dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed products that enhance well-being in the workplace. We are now bringing our product visualization capabilities in-house and are looking for a skilled freelance CGI 3D Artist to support this strategic transition.

Role Overview

We are hiring our first in-house freelance 3D artist to take the lead on product visualization for our expanding portfolio. You will work closely with our internal 3-person design team in Germany to create photorealistic 3D stills and animations of ergonomic furniture and accessories. This role involves both technical execution and creative collaboration, with room to grow and shape visualization standards across the brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D still renders and animations of ergonomic furniture
• Produce marketing, sales, and product development visuals—including lifestyle scenes and technical assets
• Support office planning visuals and provide visual content for client-facing materials
• Deliver approximately 20 product and 15 lifestyle renderings or animations per month
• Collaborate closely with the internal design team, reporting to the Design Team Lead
• Participate in weekly syncs and provide regular project updates

Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing commercial-grade product visualizations
• Proficiency in 3D software such as Rhino, Blender, Unreal Engine, or equivalent
• Experience with furniture, interiors, or consumer product rendering
• Deep understanding of lighting, materials, and animation with a focus on photorealism
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and iterate quickly based on feedback
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently within a distributed team
• Comfortable working a minimum 4–5 hour overlap within 9:30–15:30 CET
• E-commerce or product marketing experience is a plus

Technical Setup

• Preferred tools include Rhino, Blender, Unreal Engine, but we are flexible
• Software licenses can be provided as needed
• Slack is the primary communication tool
• Weekly one-on-one and design team meetings
• NDA and data protection agreement required under German regulation

Contract & Payment

• Independent contractor role with monthly retainer
• Payment via bank transfer in EUR (USD possible)
• 32–40 hours per week (equivalent to 4–5 days)
• Long-term collaboration intended
