Caterer/Server – Nights & Weekends

A’BriTin (Catering & Events Division) is a premier catering provider known for its exceptional products and services. The company caters to businesses and residents looking to celebrate their most important occasions. Its mission is to listen to its clients and treat them like family to provide a meaningful, trusting, and lasting relationship. A’BriTin operates four premiere catering brands and numerous event-planning venues, all of which are leaders in the industry.

The Catering and Event Staff play a vital role for A’BriTin. This position is responsible for creating an exemplary experience for all clients. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, calm in a fast-paced environment, flexible, and have a can-do attitude. The Catering and Event Staff are responsible for all event production responsibilities as assigned by the Catering and Event Leads. They play a crucial part in our Catering and Event department and will work closely to achieve our client's vision of their perfect day. As a caterer, you will manage many events, such as weddings, graduation parties, and company picnics.

The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task, handle stressful situations, and be comfortable around people. Some heavy lifting is required. Hired caterers must commit to working nights and weekends during our busy season. Our commercial kitchens are in the south metro (Farmington, MN), and catering events are happening statewide.

Essential Functions

  • Loading, unloading, cleaning, and organizing catering/events equipment and items.
  • Provide and serve food to clients and their guests.
  • Ability to cook or prep with direction.
  • Able to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Arrives to assigned work shifts on time in a clean and professional appearance, adhering to company attire standards.
  • Willing to carry and hold heavy objects such as chafers filled with food or bins of dirty dishes.
  • Good communicator – responds to shift requests within 48 hours.
  • Ability to speak politely with clients and guests.
  • Eager to learn – must be willing to attend and participate in training and open to learning and receiving professional criticism.
  • Able to work as a team and individually.
  • “If there is time to lean there is time to clean” mentality.
  • Willing to work in sometimes difficult conditions such as outdoors and in weather conditions.
  • Perform additional/other duties when needed or as required.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards or having a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to be on feet/standing for long periods.
  • Able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a can-do attitude.
  • Catering, Event services, Wedding Industry Experience (preferred).
  • Able to have reliable transportation to shifts at various venues and locations in MN.

Additional Notes: Able to lift and push 50+ pounds. Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Salary: $16.00-$18.00 hourly/non-exempt + tips eligible (DOQ)

Job Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) – Part-Time/Seasonal

Schedule: Thursday – Sunday is the standard day the Catering & Events Division operates most events; however, there is potential for employees to work other days of the week based on employee availability and as event schedules allow. Work assignments and shifts can begin as early as 10:00 AM and end as late as midnight or after midnight, though they usually range between 1:00 and midnight. Occasional work/work hours outside of standard business hours may be required.
