Job Summary

Under minimal supervision and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Ambulatory Officer (CAmbO) collaborates extensively with clinical chairs Associate Chief Nursing Officer and other members of CMT. Responsible for the effective operation administration service delivery and evaluation of all areas of responsibility listed below. Directs all aspects of operations for these areas. Plays a pivotal role in determining and executing on the strategic plans and objectives of these areas and how they roll up to the organizational strategic plan.

Essential Functions :

• Performance Management Talent Management and Commitment to Learning and Innovation
  Establishes and maintains approved leader standard work to include such things as staff rounding problem solving with staff and huddles.
  Employs Denver Healths Lean Management System concepts to manage e.g. A3 problem solving.
  Enhances employee engagement by providing the resources support and tools to work in the form of extra time brainpower and energy.
  Mentors guides and coaches direct reports in order to expand their capabilities and build management depth in the organization for succession planning.
  Staffs trains advises evaluates the performance of and when necessary disciplines and/or discharges staff at multiple levels.
  Works closely with providers and nurses assuring good working relationships and overall positive medical staff relations.
  Attends formal educational classes as required by Denver Health. Pursues learning opportunities to enhance performance.
  Creates and maintains a culture of performance improvement and change management using Denver Healths Lean management system tools and other appropriate tools.

• Planning and Strategy
  Makes future projections (e.g. Volume financial statements economic data consumer preference) and uses these projections to help plan future operations.
  Works with long term planners to ensure that orderly project development can be pursued while ensuring facilities will be in place at appropriate times.
  Performs short- and long-range planning prepares annual budgets reviews and monitors costs.
  Plans develops implements and reviews project program reports to monitor progress cost forecasts and schedules.
  Assists in implementing plans and initiatives related to attaining the goals and objectives of Denver Health.
  Assists in coordinating overall planning and strategy within assigned areas.

• Quality Review and Customer Orientation/Engagement
  Gathers information from a variety of sources analyzes information identifies data draws appropriate conclusions generates viable alternative solutions to a question or problem and evaluates the consequences of choosing each alternative.
  Ensures quality control safety and loss control.
  Reviews project results and interprets technical trends.
  Works with project managers to anticipate impediments of project progress to assist in the resolution of problems which may adversely affect project design cost or schedule.
  Ensures ongoing Health Center Compliance based on Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) compliance manual including participation in site visits

• Financial Management
  Oversees the development implementation and monitoring the annual operating budgets for all areas of responsibility.
  Ensure that operations are managed within the established guidelines and budget for areas of direct operational oversight.
  Assist in coordinating all assigned departmental budgets with Finance.
  Assists in coordinating capital budget and equipment schedules in accordance with expansion and/or new product objectives.
  Negotiates technical and commercial contracts for major projects equipment and installation

• Assists COO and CAO with special projects within Denver Health as needed. (10%)

Education :

• Masters Degree Masters in Hospital Administration Healthcare Administration Public Administration Business Administration or related management field required Required

Work Experience :

• 7-9 years Experience in a directly related field Required and
• 4-6 years 5 years experience in Management of a major department Required

Licenses :

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

• Effective leader with demonstrated ability to develop and achieve results through multidisciplinary teams.
• Communication skills to interact effectively with Denver Healths current service/client base prospective customers and all levels of Denver Health management.
• Ability to understand and apply financial analyses including forecasting assist exploring strategic options and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
• Ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources analyze information identify implications draw appropriate conclusions generate viable alternative solutions to a question or problem and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative.
• Ability to train and develop team members.
• In-depth understanding of hospital and clinical services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
