Surgery Scheduler

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Surgery Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The Surgery Scheduler plays a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the scheduling of surgical procedures, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and optimal patient care. This position involves close collaboration with surgeons, patients, and various healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless surgical operations.

What You'll Do:

• Coordinate Surgical Procedures: Schedule inpatient and outpatient surgeries, diagnostic tests, and medical procedures as per physician orders.
• Verify Insurance and Authorizations: Confirm patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-certifications or second opinions.
• Prepare Surgical Documentation: Ensure all required paperwork and special equipment are ready for scheduled procedures.
• Communicate with Patients: Provide patients with pre-operative instructions, including registration details and post-surgical care guidelines.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Document all patient interactions, surgical correspondence, and prescribed medications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Assist with Billing Processes: Collaborate with physicians to code procedures and initiate the charge sheet process for billing purposes.
• Support On-Call Physicians: Provide necessary patient information and ensure all messages and medications are documented appropriately.
• Perform Additional Duties: Undertake other administrative tasks as assigned to support the surgical scheduling process.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Strong computer, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a medical office or call center setting is preferred
