About the Role: Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our team. Under the supervision of the Office Manager, this position is responsible for scheduling surgeries for assigned physicians and overseeing all surgery scheduling functions. Responsibilities include coordinating surgical procedures with physician offices, scheduling cases in EPIC, maintaining block schedules, developing surgery consents and patient folders, and collecting necessary documentation for surgeries. This role works closely with providers and surgery locations to ensure accurate, timely, and professional scheduling. The Surgery Scheduler will also be cross-trained on front desk responsibilities and insurance verification. Type: Full Time Location: On-site in Tinley Park, IL Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Pay: $20 - $22/hr Qualifications: Required: 2+ years of surgery scheduling experience Required: 2+ years of EPIC EMR experience Multi-specialty scheduling experience strongly preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field is a plus) Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (EPIC required), Microsoft Outlook, and Excel Soft Skills: Strong multitasking ability, excellent written/verbal communication, personable and professional demeanor Key Responsibilities: Schedule surgical cases in EPIC, maintain block schedules, and coordinate changes with providers and departments Prepare and maintain surgery consents, patient folders, and required documentation Verify accuracy of CPT codes, procedures, and patient records prior to scheduling Communicate effectively with physician offices and surgery locations to ensure proper scheduling and room/equipment utilization Respond promptly to provider messages via EPIC and email, prioritizing urgent scheduling needs Manage 20-30 emails daily and handle 10-15 phone calls related to scheduling Cross-train to support front desk duties such as registration and payment collection Support insurance verification processes when needed Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager Why Join Us?
