We are looking to add some new members to the team. If you can work productively, safely, and smart in a more relaxed atmosphere, then you will be a good fit for our team. Trojan Iron Works is a Steel fabrication shop in St. Louis city and have been in business since 1984. We have a opening for a Experienced Steel Fabricator/Fitter. A person that takes pride in their work and work ethic. We make Structural steel and Miscellaneous metal fabrications. We offer competitive wages and benefits. The shop is heated in the winter.

Qualifications:

  • - You must have a minimum of 3+ years Fabricating/ Fitting in a structural steel fabrication shop
  • - You must proficiently do layout/fit-up of some complex beams, columns, and misc. steel fabrications from blueprints
  • - You must be able to read a tape measure and add/subtract dimensions
  • - You will need to use a mig welder, cutting torch and various shop fabrication tools
  • - Must be dependable, hard-working, and able to work as a team player
  • - This is a full-time position( 6 am-2:30 pm) with overtime when needed

Duties (some) Fabricate structural and misc. steel

  • Reading blueprints
  • Work in a safe manor
  • Moving material
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Cutting material
  • Welding
  • Keeping your work area clean and orderly
  • Keep machines/tools clean, functioning, and stored properly

A small fabricating shop located just north of downtown, Trojan is capable of providing structural steel for commercial projects from 20 to 20,000 square feet. Trojan is also capable of handling almost all of your miscellaneous steel requirements as well, fabricating all manner of stairs, rails, and miscellaneous custom work.

Trojan is currently run by Doug Lowrey, President, and Eric Lowrey, Vice President, who took over the daily operations in 2010.

Doug Lowrey has been with the company since 1990 and has worked in many capacities during that time, starting in the shop, moving into the office as a detailer/estimator, and finally as a project manager.

Eric Lowrey started working full time for Trojan in 1997 and has performed work in many capacities as well. Currently he is the Shop Manager and in charge of all material purchasing.
