Premiere trading organization is looking to bring on a Senior Backend Engineer. They are based in Chicago’s Loop and require 4 days in office. They are a fast-growing proprietary trading firm known for building ultra-low-latency systems and high-performance trading infrastructure. You’ll work with cutting-edge C#, C++, microservices, low-latency systems, and high-throughput distributed services powering real-time trading execution.
This role puts you directly at the core of the firm’s trading technology—your engineering decisions influence P/L in real time. The team is highly collaborative and engineering-driven, giving you autonomy to own systems end-to-end while gaining exposure to trading systems, quantitative engineering, and high-speed market data processing. Required Skills & Experience
· 5+ years of backend engineering experience in C# and/or C++
\n· Experience developing trading infrastructure (e.g., trading engine, FIX engine, order management systems)
\n· Strong understanding of low-latency systems and real-time data flows
\n· Experience with SQL databases and high-performance data access
\n· Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed system design
\n· Strong understanding of market data processing or order routing pipelines
\n· Experience with authentication, middleware, and high-throughput messaging systems
Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience with P/L calculations, margin engines, or position reconciliation
\n· Knowledge of WebSockets and streaming interfaces
\n· Experience with colocation, tick-to-trade optimization, or hardware acceleration
\n· Exposure to risk systems or post-trade workflows
\n· Familiarity with cloud-adjacent hybrid deployments
