The Certified Nurse Assistant functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. This position requires a current Colorado CNA License. The Telemetry unit is a specialized area in the hospital focusing on care and treatment of patients with heart-related conditions. The 36-bed unit also serves as a step-down ICU providing higher levels of care for patients who have undergone significant cardiac procedures or are experiencing cardiac issues. The unit cares for patients with open heart surgery, heart failure, heart attacks, sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, and respiratory failure. The team offers a fast-paced environment with highly acute patients, opportunities to float to other units, and a supportive team culture valuing teamwork, hard work, and patient well-being. Learning experiences include taking EKGs. Responsibilities include responding to patient care needs, performing 12-lead EKGs, applying and documenting restraints, wound care, stoma care, specimen collection, equipment and tube care, assisting with patient transfers, admissions and discharges, maintaining supplies, unit secretary duties, and assisting physicians and RNs. Minimum qualifications include completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program, CNA certification in Colorado, and current BLS-HCP certification. Preferred experience is 1+ years in healthcare. Physical requirements include ability to see, read, communicate, manipulate equipment, lift and transfer patients, and stand for extended periods. Regular attendance and ability to work nights/weekends required.
