POSITION SUMMARY: The Rooms Inspector at one of Oxford’s boutique-style or luxury hotels is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, suites, and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and functionality. This position plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by conducting detailed room inspections, verifying room readiness, and identifying maintenance or service issues before guests arrive.

The Rooms Inspector must be highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, working closely with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure that every room reflects Oxford Collection’s commitment to excellence. The Rooms Inspector plays a crucial role in striving to meet and exceed Four-Star service standards, delivering high-quality service and amenities with strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in every guest interaction, and consistently exceeding expectations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

Guestroom Inspection (70%):

  • Conduct thorough inspections of cleaned guest rooms to verify compliance with Four-Diamond cleanliness and service standards
  • Ensure guest rooms are immaculate, fully stocked, and free of maintenance issues before check-in
  • Verify that amenities, linens, and in-room technology (TVs, thermostats, minibars) are properly arranged and functioning
  • Check for guest personalization opportunities, ensuring VIPs and special requests are accommodated
  • Monitor Housekeepers progress throughout their shift, checking that Housekeeper carts are properly stocked
  • Give proactive feedback and conduct on-the-job training for room attendants, reinforcing cleaning protocols and Fobes standards
  • Communicate ready rooms as soon as they become available to both clean and rent
  • Submit maintenance reports/requests to the Maintenance Department for any issues identified
  • Perform housekeeping, laundry, and/or houseperson functions including deep cleaning whenever necessary
  • Assist in training new employees and providing continuous on-the-job training
  • Assist with special requests and the issuance of supplies to staff, and log items into the Lost & Found log as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of opening or closing of the day

Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.

Guest Relations (20%):

  • Interact and acknowledge guests in a friendly and customer focused manner
  • Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
  • Report any guest complaints to supervisor or property management team
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests

Other (10%):

  • Serve as a role model for housekeeping department and other employees, leading by example, ensuring all guest interactions reflect Four-Diamond service standards
  • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure the smooth delivery of services
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

PREFFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
