Loloi Rugs is seeking a highly creative and motivated Junior Illustrator to join our team in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in illustration, surface design or equivalent and have a strong grasp of color theory. In this role, you will be responsible for creating original designs and adapting purchased art as well as the work of your colleagues. This position offers the opportunity to learn how to scale and adjust designs for fabrication with mentorship from experienced team members. We are looking for individuals with a strong interest in design trends and thematic motifs, who can contribute their passion and creativity to various applications, from traditional designs to festive holiday icons.

This role is based in our headquarter office located in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Create original and visually appealing designs for a diverse range of products, including but not limited to kitchen mats, coir rugs, scatters, accents, full-size rugs, and pillows.
  • Modify and adapt existing artwork, both purchased and from colleagues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and mentors to scale and adjust designs for fabrication.
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends and thematic motifs.
  • Contribute to the development of designs for various applications, from traditional motifs to festive holiday icons.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in illustration, surface design, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of color theory.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn how to scale and adjust designs for fabrication.
  • Passion for design and an interest in staying current with design trends.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration, Textile Design, Surface Design, or related field required.
  • Strong illustration skills required.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including thorough knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesignThorough knowledge of MS Office; Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Prior experience using NedGraphics; preferred not required.
