Freelance Medical Editor For Social Media As the Freelance Medical Editor with 10Pearls Studio, you will be responsible for ensuring that social posts for our pharmaceutical client are developed with a high level of quality regarding content, organization, clarity, accuracy, format, style, and consistency. You are skilled in and perform all levels of editing, including copyediting, fact-checking, proofreading, styling, and layout review. This is a remote, work-from-home opportunity approximately 6 hours a week. Duties and Responsibilities: Copyedit social posts to ensure consistency with the client’s medical website, including established grammar, punctuation, and spelling rules and adherence to brand guidelines. Edit medical social posts and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that the materials are factually accurate for both a professional and consumer audience. Proofread designed posts to ensure that they match the approved copy exactly and that the format, organization, alignment, and spacing of copy and graphics are consistent and adhere to templated videos and infographics. Collaborate with creative and account teams to ensure an overall high level of quality regarding content, organization, clarity, accuracy, format, style, and consistency; meet established timelines. Participate in brainstorming sessions with the creative and account teams to help develop quarterly social content (videos and infographics) pulled from our client’s medical website. Job Requirements: Education- Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in English, communications, journalism, or health sciences field. Experience- 3-5 years (midlevel position) of professional medical/science editing experience, including fact-checking. Healthcare communications agency experience is preferred but not required. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Strong medical editing skills, including substantive editing, fact-checking, researching, and referencing skills, and knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition. Thorough understanding of grammar rules and comprehension of medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific terminology. Strong skills in time management, prioritizing, organizing, researching, and problem-solving, with attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines. Proficiency with Google Docs and Adobe Acrobat. Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).
