Title: Field Inspector

Duration: 2 month contract

Location: 1506 NE-69, Waco, NE 68460

Travel : Yes - Personal vehicle - mileage (less than 5k business miles annually) to be reimbursed

Shift: 7:00am-3:00pm (Mon-Fri)

Pay Rate: $28/hr

Must-Haves:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Skills: Collecting quality information, scouting fields, data entry, seed processing, equipment maintenance.
• Physical: Able to walk multiple miles a day through different terrain, bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing.
• Soft Skills: Good communication, teamwork, understanding verbal and written task and safety instructions.
• Other: Willing to work outdoors, able to travel in personal vehicle to fields, previous experience with MS Office/Excel, basic mechanical ability.

Job Description:

This person will assist in all facets of seed production within a location. Tasks include collecting quality information on a company-issued iPhone, scouting fields for silk percentage and pollen counts, and conducting indoor seed processing and packaging activities such as receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling, or warehousing seed. Outdoor activities may include planting, pollinating, note-taking, data entry, hand harvest, and preventive maintenance of equipment. R&D positions may involve electronic data collection in field and laboratory settings using PC and handheld devices. Manufacturing positions may include organizing, moving, and placing seed into storage, maintaining inventory accuracy using electronic systems. Activities may require bending, lifting, and long periods of sitting or standing. Extended hours may be requested during peak seasons.
