Operates within a county correctional jail setting to provide clinical support. Communicates and coordinates with courts, judges, court-appointed clinical psychologists, Department of Human Services, and community services. Works with correctional staff regarding health and safety of detainees. Essential duties include communication and coordination with courts, judges, court appointed clinical psychologists, Illinois Department of Human Services, and community services; working with the Jail Classification Division to provide insight related to detainee housing; collaborating with jail correctional staff including Infirmary staff regarding detainee health and safety; utilizing the Madison County Sheriff’s Office database reporting system (New World Systems-Tyler) and Madison County Jail Detainee Tablet platform (GTL Command) to complete required documentation. Requires effective communication skills via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods, technology skills, and passing a thorough police background investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Human Services field, experience providing mental health services to individuals in the criminal justice system, substance use disorders and/or co-occurring populations preferred, and QMHP certification/licensure. Physical requirements include standing 20%, sitting 80%, and occasional squatting, driving, kneeling, lifting, and bending.
