JOB SUMMARY Caregivers provide various personal care and related paraprofessional services in accordance with an established plan of care. Provides for the personal needs and comfort of clients in their homes.

CNA/Nursing Assistant Scope of Practice Nursing assistants must possess a firm understanding of their scope of practice to deliver the safest care. In the simplest terms, scope of practice means staying in one's lane without deviation, or sticking to the tasks one is permitted to do. Scope of practice dictates the tasks and workplace duties that a trained healthcare worker is deemed competent to perform and allowed to engage in, under the terms of his or her professional license and/or certification.
Scope of practice is the fine line between what nursing assistants are permitted to do versus the tasks that are not legally permissible for them to do. The scope of practice a Home Health Aide (HHA) in Oklahoma provides non-skilled personal care and basic "health-related services" under the supervision of a licensed health professional, such as a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. Oklahoma regulations define HHA duties as assisting with "health-related services". Standard Scope of Practice Tasks include:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Attendance and being on time for assigned shift in accordance with Right at Home Durant on time/tardiness policy is an essential function of this position.
• Adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
• Performs work under the supervision of the Supervising RN.
• Performs personal care activities contained in a written care plan by the Supervising RN which includes but is not limited to, assisting the client with activities of daily living.
EDUCATION / SKILLS / ABILITIES / AVAILABILITY •
Education: o High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
o Six months' experience as a CNA/HHA in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course.
o The CNA/HHA shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies.
o Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
o Current CPR Certificate is recommended.
o Meets the requirements for employees providing direct client care.
o Read, write, speak and understand English to understand all written office policies and procedures and meet the state requirements for training.
o Have valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation.

o Must be proficient in your computer aptitude with the knowledge and ability to access and understand certain software programs required to perform your duties, including but not limited to online training, mobile phone apps and digital onboarding.
o Must clear the criminal background check by state required standards.
o Must complete at least 75 hours of training, including 16 hours of classroom instruction and 16 hours of supervised practical training for HHA certification. Must pass State approved testing.
o HHAs must be certified by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) and listed on the Nurse Aide Registry.
o A Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in Oklahoma is deemed to have met the HHA requirements and can work in this role without further licensure.
SAFETY • Employee is required to maintain annual Emergency Action Plan training
• Employee must participate and comply with all activities and programs proposed and presented by management regarding safety.
• Employee is required to follow all safety policies, protocols and measures and report any unsafe health and/or safety conditions.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT • Primarily works in client's place of residence; travel may be required.
• Shift times and days vary with client needs.
