• On-Call Requirement: Yes (30-minute response time)

• Floating: Yes, to Outpatient Surgery Pavilion (3 OR suites)

• Local Radius: 50 miles (locals accepted-contact AM for rate)

• RTO Restrictions: Must be submitted at time of application

Job Description Summary:

Seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years' inpatient OR experience. Must be able to scrub a wide range of surgical cases including General, Ortho, Urology, Endoscopic, Gyn, and Vascular. Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery experience is required. This is a travel assignment at a community-based hospital with floating to outpatient surgical settings.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery

• Ensure sterility and proper setup of surgical instruments

• Scrub in and assist surgeons during procedures

• Maintain accurate count of instruments and supplies

• Comply with universal precautions and hospital protocols

• Provide patient care aligned with surgical case needs

• Assist with turnover and sterilization procedures

Key Requirements:

• Scrubbing experience is required

• Must have experience in inpatient OR settings

• On-call and weekend availability required

• Ability to respond within 30 minutes for call shifts

• Epic charting system experience preferred

Qualifications Education:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' recent CST experience in a hospital setting

• Must have case experience in:

  • General, Ortho/Spine, Total Joints, Urology, Laparoscopic, Gyn, Vascular

• Preferred experience in:

  • Plastics, ENT, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Robotic-assisted Gyn

  • Sterile Processing (SPD) and outpatient OR

License/Certifications:

• Required: BLS, CST (NBSTSA or NCCT accepted)

• Preferred: NBSTSA

Required Surgical Skills:

• General Surgery (appendectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, etc.)

• Ortho (hip/knee replacement, laminectomy, fracture repair)

• Gyn (hysterectomy, D&C, vaginal procedures)

• Urology (cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy)

• Vascular (AAA repair, fem-pop bypass)

• Endoscopic/Laparoscopic procedures

Preferred Surgical Skills:

• ENT (tracheostomy, sinus, tonsillectomy)

• Robotics (Da Vinci Xi, gynecologic/urologic)

• Podiatry (bunionectomy, metatarsal surgery)

• Plastics (abdominoplasty, breast augmentation)

• Ophthalmology (cataract extraction, vitrectomy)

Professional Skills:

• Aseptic technique

• Universal protocol / "Time-out" procedure

• Instrument processing & sterilization

• Specimen handling

• Isolation, radiation, laser, and sharps safety

Sterile Processing:

• Assembly/wrap, endoscopes, repairs, sets/trays, flexible reprocessing

Equipment/Instrumentation:

• Electrosurgical units, drills, scopes, case cart, crash cart, HLD
