This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing leadership and strategic direction to advance the health and well-being of California's diverse people and communities through the prevention, care, and treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) / sexually transmitted infections (STIs) / and hepatitis C (HCV).

The incumbent works under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director, Center for Infectious Diseases.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid telework is available for this position in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and procedures.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Possession of a valid license as a Medical Doctor (MD) in the state of California or a PhD in a science-related field.
